The thing that is scaring me right now knowing we have two chapters left is the fact that horikoshi may not make katsuki and izuku hold hands, don’t view this as a ship thing, it’s just there has been so much build up for a hand hold but if at the end there is no hand hold then why make it seem as if there will be one it would feel quite unsatisfying for it to not happen it’s a thing they both need especially katsuki i mean we’ve seen drawing of katsuki looking at izuku’s hand with this longing look all katsuki wants is to hold izuku’s hand, but if it doesn’t happen then why make it seem like it was going to happen

Okay but Katsuki definitely does not know Izuku’s on the fast train back to quirkless. “Don’t let me surpass you” has to hit SO different when Izuku gets a chance to process it

Thinking lately about Izuku(a civilian now) getting caught up in some Villain shenanigans(think like a random hostage situation or heist/robbery)(he is literally at the wrong place at the wrong time) and the possibilities of what could happen.
The possibilities of the civilians recognizing him and hoping for him to save them? Him doing his best to keep them all together and calm?
The possibilities of whether or not the villains recognize him or slowly start to figure it out? Do they know he's actually Quirkless now and try to take advantage of that? Or do they think he still has powers and immediately try to restrain and overpower him?
How Izuku either fights back or tries to thwart the villains? How he stays quiet at first, but is observing and analyzing the crap out of them and their Quirks?(while it's technically illegal for him to act as a hero, he also wouldn't stand down if the villains were threatening to harm any of the hostages)
If he has an actual altercation with them? And what if he gets injured? (I imagine he can hold his own reasonably well in a hand to hand fight! He still trains and is in shape, maybe even spars with Kacchan, and he has that extremely high pain tolerance! But he still gets clocked especially if he's trying to prevent them from doing harm)
And what happens when GEMG DynaMight gets to the scene. And does Katsuki know before hand that Izuku is involved of find out afterward when Izuku is released with the hostages? Or when he busts in to stop them and sees Izuku himself??
Or do the villains know enough about Izuku and Katsuki to make Izuku their primary hostage and hold Izuku hostage for some sort of ransom or deal with DynaMight?
And do they know enough to know that that's pretty much a death wish for them?
How about Izuku being just cool as a cucumber even though they're threatening DynaMight bc he knows enough about these suckers now to know that they are no match for Dynamight....much less when he is ANGRY.
Or how bout Izuku actually trying to talk them out of their dumb idea (full on teacher voice activated) because he knows they're petty criminals who are acting this way for a reason, but they shouldn't add kidnapping to their rapsheet.
DynaMight busting in and busting them, of course, and putting the fear of god into the villains whenever he is aware of Izuku being involved. He takes it personally, maybe hitting the guy holding down izuku a little harder than the others before arresting them.
What about when Katsuki gets Izuku out of there, he fusses endlessly over Izukus injuries and bloody face, and refuses to let Izuku go home by himself(he needs to be monitored for a concussion, that's all!)
I MEAN WHY HAVE WE NOT THOUGHT MORE ABOUT THIS ASPECT THERES SO MUCH POTENTIAL HERE.
If this is a fic already I really want to read it... Daniart already made an art to this theme and I saw it today, meanwhile I have definitely been pondering it for a day or two *bkdk brainmeld*

CHAPTER 429 spoiler!
I have to begin this by saying that I started crying by the end of this chapter, and it took me a while to identify why. Almost immediately, I knew this chapter was about heroism, what it meant to be a hero, what it took to LEARN what it means a hero. My hero academia.
To start let's look at what's been happening the past few chapters after the last fight. We see this dark and lonely figure.
Tumblr media
A lot of people theorized that this was Shigaraki or Dabi but this last chapter put that to rest when we see this poor child again.
Tumblr media
The parallel between Tenko and this person is almost on point. Obviously this poor kid has been through something incredibly tragic (just like Tenko) terribly painful (just like Tenko) and is awefully lonely (just like Tenko) but as the chapter progresses we see this poor person get saved by a simple act of kindness from an old lady.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now on the surface we see an old lady, remembering what Izuku had just done and finding the courage to reach out a hand. A much needed hand to hold. A. HAND. TO. HOLD. While practically saying "I AM HERE". But when you read what she says, she says something interesting. She says "I wonder if that kid was saved by a hero after I left" and it took me a while to realize why this was soooo important for Horikoshi to include this old ass lady and a child clearly in distress ONE chapter away from ending the series.
Tumblr media
Right after Tenko had accidentally killed his entire family and he was roaming the streets, everyone was avoiding him INCLUDING THE SAME OLD LADY WE SEE IN THE MOST RECNET CHAPTER! This old lady was the same person who was one of the ones too afraid to reach out to Tenko, leading to the creation of Tomura Shigaraki but, BUT because she saw how heroic Izuku was, this time when she saw a distressed poor child, instead of thinking someone else will save the child, she reached out a hand and took it.
I'm 100% sure this is Horikoshi telling us that this is what it means to be a hero because we see this same scenario happen at the beginning of the series when Katsuki was in the grasp of a villain about to die because pro heroes were standing by when out of nowhere a weak person comes running out to save Katsuki (who else but his soulmate, quirkless Izuki) and Horikoshi is one of the best story tellers of our time so it makes sense that the beginning of his story is linked to the ending.
Heroism can be as simple as reaching out a hand because holding a hand can heal. Reaching out can save.
My hero academia indeed. My fucken hero academia indeed.
So with one chapter left, what's left? He closed the Todoroki family and Izuku and Ochako while explaining what it means to be a hero...does this mean bkdk has a chance? Really?
And you know what? Now that it's to this point, we already knew Izuku had the courage to face death, we saw this at the beginning of the story, but if we follow this logically, since Izuku already knew what it meant to be a hero since he was a child, what is this academia about? Who here was REALLY learning what it meant to be a hero? Someone who had the courage to be a hero since they were a child? Or someone who was arrogant and was taken down a peg, humbled, and even DYING?

I have an issue with the "the giga cover is likely fujobait" because I can't help but think:
if it was truly fujobait, why now?
Why try to get their attention if MHA is now in the 100M club? The series now so popular, hori/jump doesn't need queer shippers to increase its popularity.
Why try to get fujos and queer fans, if it's already popular in that group? Wasn't it apparently shown that MHA is more popular with women and LGBTQ+ fans?
Why try to get that audience when hori had the chance to do that back in 2016-2018 when Kr//bk was the popular gay ship? Wasn't there an interview where someone pretty much asked hori if he's for kr//bk, but instead of playing along, hori made it about bkdk (the ship that no one took seriously at the time) and said he saw the hand hold more about bkdk angst. Kr//bk was a popular ship, it had bones making official art of them. The smash parody manga had moments of it. Two heroes was their movie [I believe hori didn't really help in that movie. However, notice how in the second movie, (he was a part of that one), focused on bkdk (again, the ship no one took seriously)]. Hori had the ability to use that ship as bait, but he seemed to be the only one out of everyone else to not go for it. Instead he kept pushing for the ship that was thought to be too toxic to even become a platonic ship.
If horikoshi did not want bkdk to seen as romantic, why isn't he stopping jump for implying it? You really can't say that he has no ability to, the guy went to bones and told them the ending. Now, notice how bones suddenly stopped making iz//ch moments and added a bkdk moment in the recap episodes (something that they would never do 2 seasons prior). The assistant (whom hori is friends with) is a loud speaker of dkbk lol. Hori follows him on twitter, there's no way that hori hasn't seen his dkbk art once. Same for katsuki's JP VA (who is also a friend of Hori).
Why try to bait the audience when the manga is ending?
Idk, maybe there's a chance he is actually queerbaiting and make iz//ch canon, but again, after everything?
After the togachako arc? He had made ochako confess her crush on midoriya, only for seconds later to not only brush it off as unimportant (unimportant in the sense of it was more of way to relate to toga and speak with her, it wasn't really used as a "canon izu//ocha" moment), she tells toga that she could have ochako's blood for the rest of her life (and we know that's toga's love language of returning/accepting her feelings) and she told toga that she had the cutest smile in the whole world. Like, didn't hori say that toga was made for ochako's character? I feel like it wouldn't make sense for hori to do all of this, then have ochako end up with midoriya, it would feel like a middle finger to toga tbh.
After chapters 285, 322, 362, 367, 403, and 404? The apology? The "you're the closest one to midoriya izuku, therefore I need to kill you in order to make him go crazy". The heart shaped black whip after seeing bakugou's dying body? The "their feelings became one" double spread? this bullet point could be spread to about 2-3 document pages, but I'm just going to summarize for this post lol. But overall, these chapters (and a few more), show me (imo) that it the "fujobait" claim isn't really strong to use against bkdk.
Again, maybe this is queerbait, because I know that there are times where other media/anime have done simliar and still had the MC in a heterosexual relationship, and leave everyone dumbfounded lol. Once again, all I say to this is "let's see what happens."
P.S. Isn't this the same author who said that he thought that naruto was going to end at 698 (the implied SNS ending) lol? Idk if it's true, that's just something I've heard.

okay im actually tired of ppl pretending it’s the same. “Izu///ochas and togachakos reduce Ochako into a love interest the same way!” “If deku was running and saying Bakugou was his hero then bkdks would see it as romantic so they are actually canon”.
Just, stop. Queer and hetero ships are completely different, and there are different things expected from them; if ppl focus too much on the ship side, then yeah, characters do get ignored and reduced to romantic plots, but it’s not the same. The hetero couple is not only expected but most of the time reduces the female character into the romantic subplot exclusively. Izuku and Ochako dating would make her whole arc not be about learning to be a hero and accepting her own feelings, but about dating him as her conclusion would happen “thanks to a romantic confession and getting with the boy”; so many ppl are angry bc she didn’t confess so she’s still “holding back”, but she isn’t, because she already admitted those to Himiko (yes, that time she told her she fell for him). If she was hurting mainly because of not telling him she likes him… that’s not the same as hurting mainly because she likes a girl. It’s just not the same, in any way.
And the same goes to the other sentiment -we expect queer coding, not straight forward confessions, hugs and kisses like hetero shippers can hope for. So we over analyze their interactions basically out of necessity knowing the possible context -if they are meant to be romantic, there are many obstacles to make them just confess, so we, especially shippers who are also queer, try to pick up on clues. This isn’t exclusively something in BNHA, it has been happening for a long time ever since there were policies and laws against LGBT+ representation in movies and TV shows in many countries; queer coding is a way for the authors/writers/creatives/etc to say “if you know, you know” (there’s also a history of queer coded villains for the purpose of following the same laws, but yk, the creatives behind many of them certainly knew a lot about queer stuff in their private lives…)
But hetero ships don’t need any of that -they don’t need secret codes and secret messages confirming canon romances out of fear of consequences. They are a boy and a girl! What are the consequences? In this particular case too, there are some ppl misinterpreting shippers on purpose -not understanding why bkdk handhold is a big thing not bc it’s a handhold, but bc of their history with hands, or believing Ochako was exclusively doing her job as a hero when she went for Himiko. So. I’m just angry at ppl for comparing these ships as if straight and queer narratives are the same. EDIT: I’m also tired at ppl for believing an author can write a manga weekly for 10 years and follow the original idea of what the characters were about and represent.
“oh but how could Midoriya be the greatest hero after all of this” I’m sure hori doesn’t know bc in 2014 he had a different idea for the ending -more typical shonen with him being the best hero in the world, and now he isn’t even the most popular among his classmates-, so know he is stuck with that narrative haunting him and can’t ignore it lol

BKDK drabble - battle reunion
Katsuki sees Izuku across the battlefield. Izuku is already moving, half stumbling and half running as much as his overworn body will allow him to. He's ripped and bloodied, but nothing appears life-threatening. A flooding relief washes over him.
Katsuki is shakey on his feet but resolute, one hand clutching protectively over his heart. He waits.
It's like a dream to see Izuku pushing through the rubble towards him with that look on his face -like getting to him meant everything. Katsuki almost stops breathing at the wonder of it, the thrumming anticipation of having Izuku in front of him.
Though it's happening quickly, time feels like mud. And yet all too soon, he's there.
"Kacchan.." he gasps breathlessly, suddenly stopping just shy of his reach. Izuku reaches his hand out slightly as if to touch him, but then drops it to his side, clenching and unclenching his fists.
Frustrated. Controlling himself. Even after all this.
"Are.. Are you okay?.." he says instead.
Katsuki's eyes water despite himself. He sees everything about Izuku, about *them*, with so much more clarity now. How badly Izuku wants to touch him right now, and how scared he is that he will cross their unspoken boundaries if he does, and lose him. It blows his mind. Makes his feelings twist and writhe erratically between agony and bliss.
So Katsuki crosses the divide, hooking one heavy arm around Izuku's neck and dragging him forward against him. He presses his face down into the warm skin between collarbone and neck, protective arm still in place and awkwardly pressed between them. He still can't find his voice to answer, throat clenching painfully. It's overwhelming. So instead he nods against his neck.
Izuku's shock lasts a half-second before he's pushing his chin against Katsuki's forehead in an embrace, hand delving into sweaty hair to pull him gently in, securing him in place. He curls his other arm around Katsuki's back, shifting and fisting against material, pressing him a little closer whilst trying to hold himself back from harming Katsuki in his enthusiasm. He can't stay still, positioning and repositioning his hand all over Kacchan's back, arm, shoulder.. Checking, re-checking, reassuring himself that Katsuki was okay for now, feeling the intoxicating warmth between them.
Izuku smells like burned ash, blood.. and love. He can feel it washing over him like the afternoon sun in a cloudless summersky.
He feels Izuku still as Katsuki begins to pull back. He doesn't resist as he unwinds his arm from behind his neck to brace his hand there instead, drawing back to look at him. He finds himself lost in the wide green eyes searching his. They are questioning,
Did I overstep? Are we okay? Can I touch you? I'm sorry.
He feels his lips quirk in a shakey half-smile. Whatever he thought he was doing is gone now. He's too rattled to think straight. Internally he laughs a little at himself for how gone he is. It's all too much to even look at Izuku right now.
So he closes his eyes instead, pressing his forehead to Izuku's to give his heart a break from that gaze -only to find the intimacy of this new embrace just as thrilling. It's no reprieve. Damnit.
Still, it seems to have quieted Izuku's concern about touching him. At least Izuku stays, so he stays, and tries to calm himself -it's still just just the dweeb, he reminds himself. Somehow that makes it worse.
Wryly he considers that whatever Izuku has him feeling, can't be good for a recovering heart. (Or maybe it was? What else were hearts made for if not this?)
Rationally, he knows he should probably be making his way to the medics, or calling them in. Fuck.
"We need to get you to recovery girl..." Izuku murmurs, as if reading his thoughts. Forehead still pressed to his.
Katsuki knows that like him, Izuku has his eyes closed as he says it. He feels Izuku bring a trembling hand across his jaw to cup the space below his ear. Katsuki can tell the gesture costs Izuku in already frayed nerves. Though he's trying to hide it, his breath is too quick not to give himself away.
The sweetness of it catches him offguard, and suddenly has him furrowing his eyebrows tightly against the onslaught of feeling. He's an overtensioned wire close to breaking. He breathes in through his nose sharply. It doesn't help. Longing is a painful, unquenchable thing.
Sensing the change, Izuku stills in response. He's worried. Again. Always so damn worried about "Kacchan" blowing up in his face, or leaving him. It's no surprise. He's created that expectaction through countless years of his own bullshit.
Izuku's touch lightens as though he's made his mind to back off immediately. His hand starts to drop from his face, and all Katsuki can think is, "No.. No! Stay!"
His self-control snaps and he's surging forward, unable to stop. Reaching Izuku's warm lips and kissing them again and again, as though he has to, or die. Izuku stumbles backwards half a step and Katsuki just follows. Kissing him desperately, unable to let go or do anything else. He feels possessed.
Somewhere in his mind he worries that Izuku is stunned and unmoving under his insistent mouth. His touch is still too light against him, but he can't bring himself to stop. Not while Izuku's fingers are still delicately resting against his jaw. "Please.", he thinks. "Please.. Izuku..."
Then he hears the most heartrending whimper, the sound of agony and relief against his lips. And then Izuku is moving into action, reclaming lost space, and kissing him back in shared urgency, like his self restraint is just as broken as Katsuki's. He darts a tongue out, meeting Izuku's as he opens his mouth instantly. It sends warmth pooling down his spine. Nothing ever felt better in his whole life than this.
Izuku is crying.
He can feel the wet grip where their skin moves against each other. Taste the salt. He feels everything Izuku is trying to tell him in those kisses. But Izuku needs more than kisses to really believe anything, he knows that. "Izuku." he whsipers between kisses, voice hoarse from battle, emotion.. "I love you."
He hears the inhaled breath through Izuku's wet nose. Feels the smile against his lips. This feels like dying, or flying, he's not sure which. And he never wants it to end.
But he's losing the strength to stand and less oxygen isn't helping, so he breaks the kiss. Pulling away, and grasping Izuku by the hand. Izuku intuitively eases him down with his counterweighted grasp. Katsuki sits gingerly, Izuku taking place beside him and wiping his wet face with his inner-elbow. They're exhausted.
Katauki can't look at him, he needs to calm down. Izuku seems to understand and shuffles closer. Supportive.
He puts his head on Izuku's shoulder, his hand clasped with Izuku's in his lap. Katsuki watches him intertwining their fingers. Even a simple hold like this feels equal parts comforting and electric.
He wishes he could crawl inside Izuku's soul and live there. Izuku rests his head against his. It's definitely mutual.
In the distance they can see a recovery crew coming through the wreckage. Izuku raises his other hand straight in the air to signal them, and Katsuki knows everything is going to be okay. He squeezes the hand in his, and feels Izuku's answering grip.
Better than okay.
..And for fun..
It occurs to Katsuki that the sound of helicopters in the near distance -that he'd somehow filtered out of existence with the all-consuming need of Izuku- are why the recovery crew knows they're here. Which raises the likely possibility that millions of people just saw all *that* between them as a live broadcast.
He smirks. "Whatever", he thinks.
"He's mine. It doesn't get clearer than *that!*"
Katsuki had grown a lot, but he would always be more than a bit too competitive and possessive. He's so in love he doesn't have room left to be embarassed about any of it. And as far as he's concerned, he's just fucking WON at life.
Izuku glances over to him suddenly, as though also realising the same thing about the helicopters.. He takes in Katsuki's smug look.
Katsuki is briefly shaken out of his thoughts of triumph in his concern for Izuku. His ears are scarlet. Shit!..
And then he's beaming at Katsuki almost ferally, lifting their hands and kissing Katsuki's bloodied knuckles. Staring at him in challenge to say anything about it.
He muses that Izuku feeling more secure did not take long once Katsuki's feelings were spelled out for him.. He's also reminded once again, that however cute the package, Izuku is every bit as possessive and competitive as he is in some things.
He raises a cool eyebrow back at Izuku's wolfish grin. And though he won't say it, is delighted.
This is gonna be good.

Another analysis of Bakudeku’s relationship! (Shout out to Syd for helping me) - Manga spoilers
——-
If Horikoshi planned to make them holding hands in a life or death situation, aka an important situation…imagine for the manga and how important it’ll be
It’s different from the movie for sure but still…If his first idea was them to help each other in the most unexpected situation and where they NEEDED it to survive, it’ll be more impacting in the manga
Tumblr media
When he never saw him in this state before, for him it was the first time he truly saw his childhood friend died in front of him. The same childhood friend with how he wouldn’t imagine a world. And seeing him *dead* in front of his eyes might awaken something in his chest because the idea of losing him was hard, but they caught him right in time the last time at Kamino…this time, no one was here to save him, and Izuku might blame himself because now he’s considered dead.
Tumblr media
It’s like imagining one of your closest friends (even your best friend you’ve known since childhood or years, it doe matter, as long as you know you both had a strong bond) dead, and damn...I think no word would be enough to describe the pain Izuku might have felt at that moment, so instead, his emotions spoke for himself and me, the fear deku we have now is the traumatized and the real Izuku, the one unable to control his feeling- see what I mean with the Izuku stuff?
Tumblr media
How the Izuku was seen until now was the « fake » one, and the feral one who entered into craziness after seeing Katsuki dead is the « real » one, almost as if his feelings were personalized in one person, and it’ll be the current Izuku.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love the symbolism of “holding hands.” Until now, all the people who held someone else’s hand were important to them, so it’s not just an “I’m saving you” thing, it’s more like an “I’m saving you because I TRUST YOU” thing.
The notion of trust is really important, and it depends on the relationship. For example, in season 6, when Tenya held Izuku’s hands, it was because he trusted him.
During the Kamino accident, Izuku WANTED to be the one to save Katsuki (in a part of his mind) because HE TRUSTED HIM. At this period, he was afraid because he didn’t know if it was mutual, so he let Kirishima do it.
Today we have heroes rising where, in a life or death situation, Katsuki AGREED to hold Izuku’s hands and accept his help because he TRUSTED him. He always did, and it was complicated during the deku vs. kacchan two fight when he refused and rejected izuku’s help. Because Katsuki was TRUSTING izuku, and he always did, but he was afraid and lost in himself.
The beauty of their relationship (bkdk) is how Izuku knows that Katsuki is not okay, and he gives him time. Instead of forcing him, he would rather let his childhood friend discover things by himself and be here by his side when this happens. When Izuku always knew about how HE trusted Katsuki, like an obvious thing for him….it took more time for Katsuki to admit it.
Admiring it means being vulnerable, and until now, the only moments when he was vulnerable were around Izuku, and, even if they didn’t solve their problems at first, it helped Katsuki to build this trust and the idea of “Izuku is here when I’m vulnerable, so this means he’s trusting me” (or something like that) so yeah, the most interesting part of their relationship is how they grew up.
When Katuski fully realizes it’s okay, and they trust each other, he’ll be more open, and their bond will be stronger. It’s the prettiest thing about their dynamic.
Tumblr media
——-
(Credit to Syd for this part !)
If it was izuku who had his hand out for Katsuki instead of kirishima, but I’m glad it was him because izuku wanted to be the one to save him, but honestly, I don’t think he would’ve taken his hand. (Since he rejected 3 times when izuku offered, but you know katsuki too stubborn) and so we get to where I love the hand-holding bc katsuki is now accepting izuku and wants to make things right between them.
Katsuki character i think is very unique. Izuku is just a beautiful character overall.
The relationship between them is something that I never really seen before (i mean I’ve seen stuff with enemies to friends or enemies to lovers) but this is a little different and that’s what I love about it.
Tumblr media
——
Let’s be real, we always wished it was Izuku because it’s our comfort ship, but seeing this story as external spectators….this won’t work.
Katsuki would’ve to reject Izuku because he didn’t “trust” him (aka accepting how his feelings were valid too and it shouldn’t be scary to accept Izuku’s help), and they’ll put his life in danger even more. It was a question of second, let’s be real (again) Izuku might be hurt by the fact that Katsuki wouldn’t accept his help and see someone else doing it or “taking his place” FOR THE FIRST TIME.
It was new, and I’m sure he suffered, but then deku vs. kacchan 2 happened, and they solved things. It was a difficult phase in their relationship, but it made it more realistic. That’s why I love them and how detailed it is. In the current manga they had to live in the same situation about saving each other they will. Katsuki would accept Izuku’s hands because they worked on it for months (in the manga Timelapse).
Tumblr media
It’s different and well done, this makes them more attached and humans. They made mistakes, apologized, and agreed to give each other a “second chance” to start better, which is beautiful. They both complete each other most unexpectedly, and it’s the craziest thing about their relationship, how it feels natural.
I’m truly glad about how their relationship turned and their development <3
Thanks for reading and take care of yourself ! (Sorry for the mistakes)

I recently am now looking through the mha fandom for the first time and discovered your blog. Looking through your posts and analysis you seem like you’re quite knowledgeable about Horikoshi’s writing or him in general and are confident about the potential of bkdk being canon. In fact, quickly looking through the bkdk tags, a lot people on here are quite confident about the relationship, whether viewing it platonic or romantic. Now I kinda expected that, as a bkdk shipper as well, but I became confused when I found alot of people implying that Horikoshi “ships” bkdk or encourages it. For the longest time I’ve only ever consumed the anime and never really knew what’s been going on in the fandom. So I don’t know much about Horikoshi, but I swear I heard way back about him not liking the ship bkdk and deliberately implying the relationship between Izuku and Uruaka. The questions I’m getting at here is, what makes you think that Horikoshi wants bkdk to be canon and is there any hints about it outside of the main anime/manga that supports that? I acknowledge how it’s hinted at that bkdk heavily “need each other” or something like that in the anime/manga, I just always thought it was always going to be platonic and that Izuku and Uruaka will be end game. Maybe it is that and everyone is just joking about Horikoshi, idk I’m confused and lost lol.
Okay what you're asking for is a little strange, because Hori's storytelling really does speak for itself, his heart shows up the most in his writing of bkdk, but here goes…!
In regards to Hori’s feelings about them, hmm I’m going to get there one day soon(tm), but I’ll give you two examples outside the manga that show bkdk are important to him and why Hori is a bkdk like us.
First is when an interviewer was asking about Kirishima saving Katsuki and Hori responded to him with a sentiment that sounded a lot like “actually the takeaway from this scene was bkdk. that it was a bittersweet moment because Izuku couldn’t be the one to take his hand… but the decision was made." He really deflected the topic away from Kirishima and pointed at bkdk "Look at them instead".
Tumblr media
Showing importance of that decision to bkdk’s development because THEY are what’s most important to the series, not any of their relationships with the main side characters. (And then we got the parallel to this where Katsuki feels he didn’t have what it took to take Izuku’s hand during the Deku retrieval arc. Regrets, regrets, regrets... everywhere. Now Katsuki is dead and Izuku "still hasn't told him ____")
My second example is something I bring up on twitter a bit, but that's only because it's so validating.
So you know when Katsuki died, every bkdk was crying and/or freaking out, right? Back then the mood was… “How is Izuku going to react to this?” And in a lot of bkdk’s hearts, we imagined Izuku kneeling at Katsuki’s side, embracing him, possibly acting very protectively over his body. People drew fanart of this.
I also had this kind of vision of him... but back then, MANY of us did.
Tumblr media
But for the most part, we knew it wouldn’t be practical in the middle of a fight setting and then come January, Horikoshi showed us he felt the exact same way as us about them with his Volume 37 cover “illustration.” It was like a brainworm image of Izuku and Katsuki he couldn't get out of his head unless he drew it for the cover, something he felt bkdk deserved, but he couldn't give it to them in the manga because of the unrealism and impracticality of it happening mid-fight.
What I’m saying is: when Katsuki died, all bkdks dreamed of Izuku holding him close and/or protecting him and Horikoshi turned that collective vision, that many of us felt in our hearts, into a freaking volume cover.
As bkdks, we have this idea in our heads of these characters; what motivates them, what or who are important to them, because this far along the story, these characters are basically writing themselves. And by him and us connecting on this feeling Izuku has with Katsuki, Hori is confirming the way we see Izuku and the importance of his intense love for Katsuki as "the correct version" of Izuku that also exists in HIS mind, and he showed his hand to us of him being the biggest bkdk out of all of us. He quite literally is our King of BkDk.
Tumblr media
The reveal of this cover is the moment I knew, without a doubt, that Hori was one of us. And that's not even factoring in that Edgeshot quote. Even that is a whole thing in itself to unpack, which I've done multiple times already.
If Hori's chosen composition and overall mood for this cover weren't already damning enough evidence for his love of bkdk and intent on making them canon, the other thing of note is that the red fingers in their background are HEAVILY inspired by Berserk.
When I saw it, I got flashbacks of the eclipse, and the hand that lifted Griffith out of Guts' reach. It also turns out there was a very similar "lovers" pose between Guts and Casca for that eclipse content. And then there are all of those Spider-Man death embraces with Gwen Stacy.
The inspirations for this volume 37 for the hero comic-loving Horikoshi are quite clear: Izuku is embracing his future lover.

I've been cooking something up...
Slowly but surely. No idea when I'll get the full thing out, but I thought I'd at least drop a little teaser in the meantime 😁 will probably be part of my fluffy bkdk one shots series, unless it spirals out of my control, which at this rate is wholly possible.
No quirks, alt universe wip.
CW: swearing.
Anyways, teaser under the cut!
Izuku pouted up at a scowling Katsuki from where he was treading water in front of the wharf. “Please, Kacchan? It’s so slimy and I can’t get a good footing to get myself out.” It was a bald faced lie. He didn’t need his feet to get out when he had enough upper body strength to lift himself onto the platform, like he’d done dozens of times by now. But Katsuki didn’t need to know that.
Skeptical ruby irises gleamed down at him, an unreadable look passing momentarily across his face. After a beat, the blond huffed and uncrossed his arms. “Fucking useless nerd,” He squatted down at the edge of the wharf and extended his hand. “C’mon then!”
Izuku couldn’t help the grin that spread over his face as he stared at the gorgeous man above him, bathed in moonlight enough to make his platinum hair appear almost silver, the reflection of the water swimming in his eyes like fine wine. God, he was so beautiful it was borderline painful. He almost felt bad for what he was about to do. Almost. Izuku grabbed hold of Katsuki’s hand, immediately trying not to think about how warm and soft it was, despite the callouses covering his palm, or the fact that their hands fit together like puzzle pieces. He situated his feet on two of the boards beneath the water, and gave a nod to go ahead.
It happened in one swift movement. As Katsuki stood from his squat, Izuku used his feet to push backwards off the boards, gripping Kacchan’s hand tighter as he pulled him with him.
With an unceremonious yelp and a heavy splash, Izuku had successfully managed what he set out to do.
Katsuki surfaced a moment later, sputtering and cursing up a storm, while the greenette couldn’t help the maniacal laugh that escaped his lips.

bkdk headcanon
So we all know the song im on top of the world by imagine dragons, but let’s make it Bakudeku.
So imagine that when they were kids it was their favourite song and they even came up with a whole ass dance for it and they would dance in the middle of the super market when it came on. When they first started dating the song came on in the restaurant they went on their first date and they decided it was fate. Whenever one of them is feeling down and hiding in the others dorm during their time at ua they would but on the song and force each other to dance like they did when they where little. Always that same routine, just slightly less sloppy. Even when they hear on dates now whenever they hear it they both sing until someone says to shut up.
One day in 3 year their at a party with the whole class. Bakugo is in a really bad mood, and Deku knows they can’t just leave so he continues talking to his friends and dancing on the dance floor when he gets an idea. They had already talked about coming out to their class, but they hadn’t figured out how, so they agreed if one of them came up with something they could put into action and the other would just try and play along. So with that in mind, he goes to the music table and writes down a song request. Now he just had to wait for it to play.
Ten minutes later the clapping and the beginning of On top of the world begins. Deku looks at Bakugo as it starts playing and when he looks up in surprise he sees his secret boyfriends hand outstretched for him and already singing the first three  line. The angry Pomeranian stood up and walked towards him singing the next three the class was slowly quieting trying to pinpoint the singing and Turing to find the two hand in hand as they alternate singing the next four lines and as the chorus began they turned to each other suddenly and started dancing as they continued to sing in perfect unison. Most of the class was watching in stunned silence 😧 as two classmates who hated each other, and one they didn’t think was capable of an emotion other then anger were grinning at each other as they danced in practiced harmony staring at each other with eyes of pure adoration. A circle was formed around the two as the chorus started again. They were shocked how good they were at dancing and singing. Mina was recording this, probably for ✨tea✨ purposes. As the last three lines resonate through the room the two stood facing each other holding hands staring into the others eyes whispering the lines as if they were secret. Bakugo leaned forward and placed a kiss on Izuku forehead and said softly, but loud enough for some of the bystanders to hear «  thanks for that izu, I needed it. » «  anything for my KitKat. » 😍 Bakugo blushed at another nickname that Deku had given him as kids.
« OMG, BoomBoom boy is blushing! »
And Denki obviously has to be the one to break the silence and most probable set up his death. But all in all they come out KitKat blushing the entire time and the class is thrilled to find out. Uraraka is hella mad that her bestie kept this secret from her, Todoroki isn’t even surprised, he figured it out in first year, Kirishima is like « Ohhhh so that’s why you rejected me »😏.
Nobody can convince me that this does not happen.

Far Away
Since Twitter is annoying, and I really wanted to post the final update and ending of the story…
BKDK single fathers Izuku and Katsuki
Tumblr media
______________________________________________________________
The final update!
“Yoshiko! Run!” Izuku stumbles over, falling onto the concrete floor. His knees start to bleed, but his son is still standing frozen at the open door. His eyes wide open, blood smeared all over his face. He is watching something Izuku can't see.
“Yoshiko!” He screams, but it feels muted. He can't hear himself. He can't hear his breathing, his heartbeat. It's like he is drowning. The dark wall crumbles, burying Yoshiko under concrete and darkness. Izuku screams.
He opens his eyes, strong arms holding him up. Red eyes try to calm him down. For a second Izuku thought it was Tomura, but it isn't.
“It's just a nightmare… Izuku…” Katsuki whispers into his ear.
They called Shoto and told him everything. Izuku isn't sure how the police officer can help him, but he told him not to worry.
The next day, Izuku and Katsuki sit in the kitchen, nervously drinking their tea and waiting for something. Anything.
Izuku can’s sleep, and Katsuki’s presence in bed doesn't help him. He is worried, worried about his precious Yoshiko. Worried about what's going to happen.
Katsuro is at the onsen and will stay with his grandparents until the mess is handled.
Izuku got another note with a threat of being ready to face his punishment, which makes him feel even more anxious.
Katsuki looks out the window and sighs. “They are here.” He says.
Out the window, Izuku can see multiple police cars and the familiar white and red hair. He is accomplished by another big police man with fire red hair. They kind of look alike.
“Midoryia.” Shoto greets the green haired boy, as he enters the Bakugou house with his troop of policemen.
“This is my father, he is in charge of-”
“I’m chief Todoroki Enji. I’ve been working on getting the Shigarakis for years now. Nice to meet you.” The older Todoroki bows. Izuku and Katsuki bow back, letting everyone inside.
Izuku stopped listening, spacing out while holding his tea in his hand. He is not interested in getting the Shigarakis, he just wants his son back and safe. But the Todorokis started to plan different scenarios, all including a raid on the younger Shigaraki.
Tomura.
But what about Yoshiko. No one talks about Yoshiko. Izuku was forced to tell them everything he knew about Tomura and as sad as it sounds, he knows nothing about Tomuras work life.
“He is not helping.” Chief Todoroki groans, holding his tablet with all the information they have.
“The fuck? He doesn't need to help, you are the one who should help him!” Katsuki steps forward in front of Izuku to shield him from the officer.
“Show me the note.” The red head roll his eyes. Katsuki hands the note to Shoto instead, not trusting the older man. Shoto nods apologetic and opened it.
“We could work with this.” Todoroki looks over Shotos shoulder.
“How?” Shoto looks up at his father.
“He is about to collect him, we will wire him, let the Shigaraki get him and follow them.”
“No.”
“The Fuck! NO!”
Both Shoto and Katsuki shout at the same time.
“What….” Izuku mumbles his head low, hair falling into his face.
“Speak up, kid, I can't hear you.” Todoroki orders.
Izuku looks up, eyes wet and still red and puffy from all the crying.
“What about Yoshiko?!”
“Don't worry, after getting Shigaraki, he will be back with the authorities.” Todoroki, writes down some notes, not even giving Izuku a glance.
“With me. He will be with me!” Izuku holds his shirt with one hand, clenching the fabric, desperate to hold something.
“My apologies, but I can't help you with that.” He says coldly.
Katsuki scoffs. “You apparently don't want to help at all.”
“Doctor Bakugou, with all due respect. I am doing my job.”
Shoto looks between Katsuki and his father.
“Bakugou, don't worry, I will make sure Izuku is safe.” He nods, determined.
Katsuki shakes his head.
“No, I will be going with him.”
Todoroki finally looks up to give Katsuki a snarl.
“You will be in the way.”
“You will not send Izuku into danger without me. Understood.”
Shoto frowns.
“I don't know what's going on between you two, but Bakugou, you have a kid. Think about Katsuro, you can't just leave.”
“Oh, so you admit it's fucking dangerous to go. So it's okay, to sacrifice Izuku but not me?!”
Shoto holds his hands up.
“No, that's not what I-”
“SHUT UP!” Izuku screams, shocking Katsuki and Shoto.
“Will Yoshiko be saved when I go?!” He asks the older Todoroki with angry tears flowing.
The Chief nods, dumbfounded.
“Then I will do it.” Izuku nods to himself.
“Izuku, I will go with you…” Katsuki puts a hand on his shoulder.
“Kacchan…” Izuku smiles wetly.
“Thank you for believing in me… Thank you for helping me and for not judging me… But this is all my fault. I need to do this alone. Katsuro already lost his mother, he can't lose you too.” Izuku wipes his tears, trying to get his breathing under control.
“Are you dumb? Katsuro loves you, too. He can't lose you and Yoshiko.”
“Kacchan… Yoshiko needs me… I will do this alone, please.” New tears loom to fall.
- - -
No one knows when or how Tomura will try to get Izuku. He got a GPS taped on his body and is forced to walk outside. Katsuki feels uncomfortable with the entire plan, not trusting Todoroki to save Izuku and Yoshiko if needed, but he has to believe that at least Shoto will be there.
Izuku is out of it. He walks around zoned out, his only thought being about Yoshiko.
Is he scared? Is he hungry? Where is he?
“Izuku?” Katsuki squeezes his hand. They are currently walking around the town center. All the other people around them saw everything that happened on the fest. The rumors got worse, the glances got more disgusted. Izuku doesn't even notice, but Katsuki does, and it pisses him off.
“I need to get some stuff for my mother.” He nods toward Granny Chiyos store. Izuku shivers thinking about the old woman.
“I will wait outside.” He rasps out, letting his hand go. Katsuki looks concerned and throws one look at the undercover police car that is following them.
Nodding, he steps inside and lets Izuku wait outside alone.
“Let me go, you fucker! I want my Papa!”
Izuku raises his head, hearing the familiar voice. It's Yoshikos voice, shouting and screaming.
Alarmed, Izuku immediately runs down the street searching for his son.
Something hits his head from behind.
The world around him turns and fades to black.
“Yoshiko…” He whispers and falls to the ground.
- - -
“Izuku?” Katsuki steps out of the store, looking around the street. A bad feeling spreads, and he feels his heart drop, when he can't spot the police car anymore.
Quickly he dials Shotos number.
“Todoroki! He is gone!” He shouts into his phone.
“I know, I’m on my way. I will call you later.” Shoto sounds panicked, which makes Katsuki panic.
“No, tell me where you are! I’m going with you!” He hurriedly walks down the road to his car.
“Bakugou, you can't-”
“I'm a doctor! What if you need medical help? I can be there! Please! He went through enough already, I don't want to leave him alone!”
Shoto sighed.
- - -
“I have to say, I'm not a fan of people playing with my Doll.” Tomuras husky voices into Izukus ear.
Izukus head hurts, warm blood flows down his temple, dropping onto his shirt and floor.
Izuku opens his eyes, Tomuras face inches apart from his. He can feel his breath on his cheeks. A rough hand holds his chin up, in his other hand he holds the GPS devise the police taped on him.
“Do they really think such a cheap trick works?” He scoffs, throwing the GPS on the floor and smashing it.
“Papa!” Yoshiko calls out.
Izuku whips his head to the side, ignoring the pain. There he is. His little sunshine.
“What did you do! I dare you! If you hurt him, I will… I will….”
Izuku frowns, his head suddenly feeling worse. The world around him moving like on a ship.
“You will what? Kill me? You weren't even able to kill a fucking cat!” Tomura laughs.
“Da- Sir! Please stop!” Yoshiko cries.
“I'm fine Yoshiko! Don't worry! Papa will get you out.” Izuku coughs, spitting out blood.
“Doll, there is no way out.” Tomura grins.
Tomura stand up, leaving Izuku tied up and bloodied on the floor. On Yoshikos face spreads fear and terror, seeing his Dad doing all of this. Jin grabs his collar and drags him out of the room. He watches in terror as his father spits more blood onto the ground.
“No, let me gooo!” He screams and Izuku looks up. Their eyes met, and Yoshiko regrets everything he ever said on the fest. He would rather sleep on the floor and shower in the garden as long as he can stay with his Papa.
His face is covered in tears and snot, his hiccups not stopping. Jin drags him down the dark floor and down the stairs. He doesn't know where he is.
With a loud thud, he is thrown into one of the rooms. The door closes as he sits alone in the dark, empty room. It's cold and wet. Crawling on the floor, he hides in one of the corners, putting his head between his legs, rocking back and forth. He tries to think about something happy.
When he was still living with his parents in Tokyo, every time Izuku and Tomura would fight he would hide in his room, and think about the happy day. How his Dad would come home, and they would play video games together. How his Papa would cook his favorite meal and all three of them eat and laugh together.
But every one of these memories feel wrong. Every time he tries to imagine his happy days with his Dad, he sees his Papa bleeding. Sees the angry red eyes of his Dad, looking down on him for crying.
“Happy thoughts, Yoshiko… Happy thoughts…” He whispers to himself.
An image of blonde hair pops up in his head. A warm dining room, curry and two blonds sitting together with him and his Papa. Then the image of handing over tools to Katsuki on the roof. Helping him repair it. An image of Katsuro drinking Papa’s lemonade. Walking to and out of school together with his… Friend… Yeah, Katsuro might be loud and annoying, but he is Yoshikos friend.
Beating up Kotaru, playing on the playground together and going to the summer fest together.
Guilt towers over him. All Katsuro wanted was a friend, a family, and Yoshiko was so mean to him for denying it.
Now he wished he was back at the Bakugou house. He wishes to see them again. His Papa was happy, he was happy. They could have been all happy together.
It's his fault for going with his Dad. He shouldn’t have broken rule number two. He should have trusted his Papa, should have been more open to Katsuro.
Home is where they make a home. They have to work together. His Papa did everything to make this place a home for him, but Yoshiko was too selfish. Selfish for missing his Dad, selfish for wanting to go back to Tokyo.
Shaking his head, he claps his cheeks. The burn letting him focus again.
“Happy thought Yoshiko!” He scolds himself.
- - -
“WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU LOST HIM!” Katsuki is burning. Burning with anger.
“We didn't lose him, Bakugou.” The older Todoroki rolls his eyes.
“Yes you did! You just said that!” He screams, pulling on his hair. They lost him. Its over. He is dead. He will never have the chance to love him. He never gets the chance to love anyone. Maybe he is cursed? Every time he is ready to love, the one dies?
Izuku doesn't deserve this ending. He deserves everything, but this.
“Bakugou, if you won't stop, I will need to remove you from this mission.” The Chief scold.
“We, didn't lose him. We only lost the GPS signal.” He states.
Katsuki looks speechless, not knowing what to say. Are these people idiots?
Shoto taps his shoulder.
“Don't worry. We already planned that this will happen. There is a second device hidden on Midoryia.” He whispers.
“And you didn't fucking think to tell me this five minutes ago?” He shakes his head, still angry and panicked.
“Sorry, you were screaming…”
Katsuki doesn't care for any of the mission. His only goal is to make sure Izuku and Yoshiko are safe. He is sure the older Todoroki will finally have his Shigaraki hunt finished, but Katsuki doesn't care. Hell, Tomura could die, and he wouldn't care. All he wants is Izuku and Yoshiko.
They drive with multiple cars and enough people to raid the hideout. Katsuki got the command to stay behind and help with first aid if needed. Of course, he will take his job seriously, but he will definitely not stay behind. Shoto gives him a knowing look. The two of them have been friends for a long time now. He knows Katsuki won't sit and wait.
- - -
Izukus mouth feels like cotton. His eyes hurt, his head hurts. Everything hurts. But what hurts the most is his heart. He will never forget the desperate cries of Yoshiko. He needs to save him. He needs to get out of here.
Tomura is not in the room, but someone else is in the room with him. Someone who would never leave his side. Someone who was always there when he called him. Someone he never trusted.
“Jin…” He rasps out, already feeling out of breath. The other doesn't move an inch, standing firm and strong at the door, looking straight at the wall.
“Why…” Izuku tires to plead. Maybe the man has some empathy. Some emotions to feel bad for Izuku. For Yoshiko.
“Why are you doing this?” Izuku moves to sit more on his knees. His back hurts, his lung burns.
“How can you do all of this?” Izukus eyes are on fire. There are no tears left to cry.
“Don't you have family?” His voice wobbled.
Jin clears his throat.
“Tomura is family.” He says monotone, like always.
“All the time we spend together, Jin… Was that nothing?” Izuku coughs.
“You are nothing but Tomuras doll. Now, shut up.”
Izuku looks always. It's fruitless, Jin won't help him. He never helped him.
Moving his hands behind his back, he realizes that his ties aren't as tight as he thought. The room also doesn't really look like a cell. Tomura is underestimating him. He still thinks Izuku is not capable of doing anything. He still thinks Izuku is the naive boy who will run back to him.
He won't kill him.
He is his doll and this is his new doll house.
Scared, he looks around, desperate for a way to get out. He notices a mirror at the other end of the room. Looking at himself, he sees the dried blood, the messed up state he is in.
Suddenly an alarm goes off. Jin immediately leaves the room in a hurry, leaving Izuku alone.
This is his chance. Sliding on the floor, he tries to get something to throw at the mirror. Anything.
But he can't move. His legs are tied too. He can't do anything. He screams and cries. He just wants to get out.
“Dude! We need to run!” Izuku hears voices outside his room.
He screams again to get their attention.
“Did you hear that?” Another voice panics.
The door slides open and two younger members of Tomuras gang step inside.
“Holy shit. Who are you?” One of them asks confused.
“I’m Tomuras lover! Help me get these off! I need to evacuate!” Izuku shouts.
“Lover? Doesn't really look like that…” The other man looks skeptical.
“It's his Kink! Now let me go, or Tomura will kill you!”
At the mention of Tomura killing them, they panic and start to get Izuku out of his ties.
“Where is my son!” He asks in a strong voice.
“The… The young master is downstairs…” One of them stutters. Izuku nods and runs out of the room. He still feels dizzy. He can hear gun shots and fighting. He hears the police screaming outside. But all he focuses on is finding Yoshiko.
“Midoryia!” Someone shouts his name. Izuku ignores it, still running toward the stairs.
A Hand holds him. Turning around, he is met with one gray and one blue eye.
“Shoto?” Izuku asks confused.
“I will get you out of here.” Shoto looks the other up and down, seeing all the blood.
“No, Yoshiko!” Izuku cries, trying to get out of Shotos hold.
The police man feels guilty. He should have done more on the day of the summer fest. He just let everything go. He is not a special officer. He is a small town officer, and his town trusts him. But he let down Izuku. He couldn't help him.
Shoto nods and follows Izuku down the stairs. They step into a long hallway going into different directions.
“Shoto, you go this way and I will look the other” Izuku points to one of the hallways, ready to run again.
“No, wait, this is dangerous!”
“SHOTO!” Izuku sobs, his eyes pleading with him. Shoto caves in and runs in one direction, while Izuku runs the other.
“Yoshiko!” Izuku calls out in hopes his son would respond. He opens on heavy door after the other with zero luck.
Frustrated, he turns around, wanting to run to one of the other hallways. The shooting is still going on outside. The screams didn't stop yet.
Hopefully, he opens the last door in this hallway. Wishing that Yoshiko is in there.
“Dolls, do not run around.” Tomuras deep voice rings through the hallway. Shivering, Izuku stumbles back. His eyes widen, seeing the white hair and red eyes of Tomura.
“Where is he!” Izuku scrams, searching for something to defend himself.
“That's none of your business.” He chuckles, walking slowly toward the frightened green haired boy.
He pulls out a gun. Cold sweat forms on Izukus neck. His heart drops. This is it.
“I really loved you. You never looked at me as someone scary.” Tomura giggles, loading his gun.
“You even shared your chapstick with me.” He looks at the ceiling, nostalgic.
“S-Stop this…” Izuku sobs.
“I will stop this.” Tomura smirks. He raises his hand, gun pointing to Izuku.
The smaller one closes his eyes. He just hopes Shoto found Yoshiko. He just hopes that everyone else is safe.
“OI YOU FUCKER!” Katsuki’s loud voice booms through the hall. Izuku lets out a breath, falling to his knees. Everything will be alright…
Katsuki is here.
And Tomura has a gun…
Loaded…
And Katsuki doesn't know.
Panicked, Izuku stumbles back on his feet. Tomura turns around, wild red eyes locking with angry ruby ones. Tomura points his gun toward Katsuki, scoffing. Katsuki’s eyes widen, but he doesn't stop. He continues to walk.
Tomura pulls the trigger. A loud shot ringing through the hall. Katsuki closes his eyes. He was ready for the shot. Shoto made him wear protection. He was sure nothing would happen to him.
Opening his eyes, his stomach drops.
Izuku cowers in front of him, blood rushing out, making him fall into his own pool of red.
Behind Katsuki policeman rush inside running after Tomura.
The doctor runs next to Izuku, putting his hand on his wounds, starting to do first aid. He holds back his tears. He holds back any emotions he could ever feel at this moment. Izuku needs him. He needs to save him.
“Ka-Kacchan…” Izuku whispers. His eyes falling half shut.
“Stop. I need to concentrate.” Katsuki breaths heavy. His lungs burning and his heart braking. He pulls out his intercom, notifying the others outside, that he needs help. They require the ambulance, which is waiting outside. They need to hurry.
“Ka-Kacchan” Izuku tries again.
“Izuku, please. You can't leave us.” Katsuki hold Izukus hand. Waiting. He is waiting for the help. He can't do more alone.
“Yoshiko?” Izuku asks.
Katsuki nods. “He is with Shoto.”
Izuku smiles.
“Thank you.”
“Thank me at the hospital! Izuku, please hang in there.”
“Kacchan… This fucking hurts…”
Katsuki puts his bloodied hand on Izukus cheeks. Cupping his face between his hands. His eyes can't focus. Looking everywhere but at Katsuki.
“Do… Do you think we would have met if i never went with Tomura?” Izukus exhales.
“What?...” Katsuki’s eyes widen. Izuku trembles all over his body. Angry, he shouts into the still empty hallway.
“HURRY UP, YOU FUCKERS!”
“Kacchan…”
“Izuku, please. You need to focus. Help is on their way…” Katsuki suppresses a sob.
Izukus head falls from side to side.
“Rule number one, Kacchan… Yo-You're only allowed to curse at home…” He whispers.
“Okay, I will stop cursing. We will curse as much was we want at home, alright?”
“I’m sorry…” Izuku raises his shaking hand to put it on Katsuki’s.
“No, don't apologize…” The blond man can't hold the tears anymore. Izuku looks more and more gone. Babbling incoherently. His eyes going out of focus, his pulse getting weaker.
“I wish I would have finished school… Kacchan? Do you think i will be able to finish school in my next life?”
“You can finish school in this life, Izuku.” Katsuki starts to stroke the green colored curls. All softness is gone.
“Mom… I never apologized to her…”
“You can do that too… Please hang in there, my love…” He puts his lips on his forehead, kissing and crying into his hair.
“I wish we would have met earlier… Can we meet again?”
“Izuku…” Tears drop on Izukus blood stained face.
“Kac-... Please… Yoshiko… Ta-ke c’re of h’m…”
Katsuki chokes up. Sobs escaping his chapped lips.
“Do-Don’ cry, Ka’chan…”
“Please stay… Izuku…”
Izuku closes his eyes.
Izuku stands at the clearing, overseeing the mountains. The nature feeling so close to him. The sun illuminating the world in warm colors. Looking and connecting with the mountains, he could never imagine going back to the busy city life.
Next to him stands Katsuki, sharing the beautiful scenery with him together. His blonde hair twirls with the wind, his soft red eyes looking at the horizon. The light gives him a soft halo, his cheeks a bit red from the colder winds. He turns his head and locks eyes with Izuku.
Izuku notices some wrinkles at his eyes. He extends his hand. His lover, without hesitation, holds his hand, squeezing it softly.
One look into Katsuki eyes show him the entire life they lived together. Working at the onsen. Attending Yoshiko and Katsuros graduation. Helping the boys move out. Marrying the love of his life. Getting back in contact with his mother. Everything he wished for happened. Everything he dreamed about became true.
Smiling, he steps closer to Katsuki. If he dies now, he would die happy.
A squeeze on his hand makes him turn his head back to Katsuki. Intense red eyes lock with his. He looks sad but full of love.
“Please stay… Izuku…” The blonde whispers, raising their connected hands, giving his knuckles soft kisses. Confused, Izuku looks at him.
But I’m here?
He wanted to say, but his voice is gone.
Katsuki sobs. His cries echo through the empty hallway.
Izuku closed his eyes.
And with his last breath, Izukus hand falls to his side.
*********************************
Katsuki clings to Izuku, never letting him go. The paramedics finally arrived, but too late. Izuku is not breathing anymore. They all rush to the hospital.
It all goes by in a flash. Katsuki called his parents, telling them what happened. Of course, they rushed to the hospital together with a crying Katsuro. The kid hates hospitals after his mothers' death.
Yoshiko also sits together with Katsuki. The blonde talked to the authority, explaining that Izuku is his father. Luckily, Yoshiko was able to talk for himself. Defending his Papa, and demanding to stay with Katsuki. Since the town is so small, the nice Lady said they will talk after Izuku feels better.
If he gets better.
Katsuki doesn't get any information. Sitting anxiously, he holds Yoshiko close in his arms.
“Katsuki!” Mitsuki calls out to her son. She gasps, seeing the dried blood and messed up state her son is in. Holding up a bag, she pushes Katsuki to the bathroom.
“Clean up and change! I will take care of the kids!” She says.
They all sit and wait for a long time. Nurses and doctor run all over the place, but no one gives them any information on Izuku. No one tells them if…
Katsuki shakes his head, looking over to Yoshiko and Katsuro. The two kids fell into their arms as soon as they saw each other. Yoshiko was a mess, apologizing to Katsuro, hugging him and crying.
Katsuki made a note to himself to contact one of his old friends, who is also a children therapist.
After 20 hours, a doctor enters the waiting room. Katsuki jumping up immediately, prepared to hear the worst.
But the doctor smiles.
“He is alright. We lost him a few times, but it seems like he is a fighter.”
Katsuki exhales, the wight lifting from his shoulders. A dry laugh escapes his lips.
“Well, he is pretty stubborn…”

A coma. The doctor said he is in a coma, but he is alive. Katsuki spends a lot of time at the hospital together with the kids. Yoshiko moved to the Bakugous. Katsuki even prepared a room only for him.
Katsuki even repaired the old house, together with the help of Ochako and her wife Himiko and Shoto.
Summer turned to autumn. And autumn turned to winter. Izuku was still in a coma, but Katsuki was waiting. Yoshiko was waiting. It was difficult at the beginning, with everyone in town still looking weirdly at the boy and talking shit about Izuku.
Yoshiko had a meltdown because of this in front of granny Chiyos store. Katsuki tried everything to help him, but the looks and whispers were too much. As he was about to explode, to all surprise, it was granny Chiyo who spoke up.
“Can't you see the poor boy crying for his father?! Shame on all of you! Midoryia was always hardworking, doing anything to raise his son well! We should all be ashamed of ourselves for making it harder on the poor boys' life… He doesn't deserve to be in a coma after all he did to make sure his son is safe!”
After that, the town people stopped gossiping. Instead, they tried to help Katsuki and Yoshiko. Making sure that Izuku would feel welcome again after coming back.
- - -
It was two days before Christmas, when Katsuki and the kids were once again in the hospital, visiting the green - not so green anymore -  haired boy.
Katsuki was about to clean up the other, when his finger twitched.
“Izuku?” Katsuki gasps.
“Papa” Yoshiko looks up from his book.
Izuku groans, he feels heavy. Like he took a nap, but at the same time he didn't sleep for a week. His head hurts, his ears ring. The last thing he remembers was seeing Tomura pointing a gun at him. Is he dead?
Smacking his dry lips, he groans more and opens one eye after the other.
Looking at the white ceiling, his body weight pushes him more into the mattress. Only that it's not his boy weight. Black curls fall into his vision. His ears still ring, so he can't hear his surrounding. But big red eyes with fat tears falling look at him.
Yoshiko.
“Yoshi…” Izuku whispers. Or he thinks he is whispering.
Behind Yoshiko, Izuku sees two other pairs of red eyes. Smiling, he locks eyes with Katsuki.
“Welcome home, Izuku.” Katsuki says, and Izuku hears him clearly. Tears well up.
Home.
He finally has a home to come back to.
Smiling fondly, he raises his hand to hug Yoshiko. Katsuro also falls into Izukus arms, while Katsuki stands at the bed looking lovingly at his family.
Outside, the dark sky shows all the twinkling stars. Snow falls and twirls with the wind through the trees. A thin layer of snow already covering the earth. The mountains stand tall and proud in th background, waiting to welcome the little family back.

!-MHA SPOILERS-!
First off, I know some people don’t ship bkdk as romantic. But hear me out.
There is TOO MUCH SHIT that’s just- it’s impossible for me to not see it!! I swear!!! Uraraka x Deku isn’t going to happen. I can tell you why! How much have we seen of Uraraka and Deku? How many instances are they fighting side by side? How many times are they causing trouble together? Barely any!! Katsuki is always there causing trouble right by Izuku’s side.
Katsuki and Izuku fight side by side, argue like a married couple, have known each other since forever, and even have a special relationship with nicknames!! Kacchan? No one else gets to call him that! When Denki tries, Kat gets mad. And honestly? I feel like when Uraraka started calling Izuku Deku and then he chose it as his hero name, I think Katsuki was pissed. Like- “uh- no. I gave you that! That’s my name for you!!”
I also believe part of the rivalry with Uraraka and Katsuki is love rivalry. I truly believe during their fight at the sports festival they were also slightly fighting over Izuku.
But when Uraraka figures out that Deku needs to focus, I appreciated that. She backed off and put her feelings aside for the better. But in a lot of anime, usually, if there’s a love interest, they’re featured in most episodes with a strong role. In the movies, Uraraka was there, but not a strong role. Katsuki is almost every event is a strong role.
I really feel the two main characters are Deku and Katsuki. Not Deku and Uraraka. Yes, we had confirmation that Uraraka likes Deku. But we’ve seen nothing about Deku liking her.
“But he blushes when Uraraka is in his face!”
Uh, yeah. He’s never hung out with girls before. He said that. So he doesn’t know what to do and gets embarrassed easily, even with the guys. He’s just an anxious ball of green fluff.
But Katsuki has been a huge part of Izuku’s life and vice versa. They literally grew based on each other. Katsuki eventually learning to let himself be saved thanks to Izuku. Izuku learning to stand up from himself and make himself stronger from Katsuki. They literally use each other to reach the top in such a perfect way.
In the beginning of the story, it was clear that their relationship was not healthy, correct. However, Katsuki apologized and explained himself during the vigilante arc and admitted to All Might that he was helping train Izuku as a form of making up for his past mistakes. A way to apologize.
If you look at even the basic dynamics of an anime with love interests, you see that Katsuki is the one that is most viewed besides Izuku. And usually, the two main characters are love interests.
My dad actually told me it couldn’t work because the childhood friend never wins, which, I laughed my ass off, so did he. But every way I see it, if there is going to be romance in this, it’s going to be bkdk.
Plus, you can find a BUNCH of hints in actual texts and translations. Such as Edgeshot using “he” as in “boyfriend”. Which, if you don’t know, Japanese people don’t usually use pronouns. They say their name if they can. They could have done “Deku is coming back” but instead they say it as if calling Deku Katsuki’s boyfriend.
So is this really a question by this point? The main characters are Izuku and Katsuki. In a romance anime, the two main characters are the love interests. Whether it turns out to be romantic or not, I guarantee you. There is just too much proof of bkdk being the main thing.
There’s no convincing me otherwise.
They better hold fucking hands at least.
A kiss on the cheek or something at most like- c’mon.

The Long Defeat Chapter 42 | Excerpt
“It’s like you’re on a swing ride in an amusement park. At first, you’re there waiting for things to happen, and for gravity to mess up with you. After a while of waiting, it starts working, and slowly you’re reaching a frightening height. And it’s not like you have a phobia, but you certainly feel things as your chest starts tightening, you think it’d explode. Then, it’s swinging and you just want to scream or jump or whatever, but you can’t do that. You’re tied and scared and there is no way you’d reach solid ground.” ― Nesrine Benahmed, Metanoia: Different Shades of Life
Katsuki and Deku go to the rankings. There’s a lot of talking. Part 2.
Fic Link: The Long Defeat
Excerpt | BKDK
“Get comfortable,” Katsuki says; he’s found exactly what he wants.
CW: under-negotiated bondage kink, dubious consent, and (unsafe) bondage.
When he goes back to the bed, Deku’s still in the bathrobe so Katsuki fights him out of it. Once he’s out of one sleeve, Deku accepts his fate. He lets Katsuki lay him down flat, pillow out from under his head, arms raised―Katsuki tries not to look at the scars crawling up his right arm.
He shakes his head and tries to focus back on Deku’s face, his half-lidded eyes.
The silk scarf whispers soft as he wraps it again and again around one leg―shin to thigh. It’s soft and cold but when Katsuki puts his hand over it, over where the cloth cuts and the flesh spills, Deku’s so warm. Katuski tightens the scarf some more, watches it cut deeper and then knots it off like one of those emergency knots.
He keeps going, making sure Deku’s legs can’t unbend, scarves and ties pinching at his thighs and shins and ankles. Tight enough that he can’t even slip a finger through.
Fuck.
And he does it all over again. Slip. Knot. Slip. Tight. He pulls so hard on one tie it nearly tears and Deku whines like he needs him.
Fuuuuck. Katsuki reaches for another scarf but there’s nothing left. He grinds his teeth but it’s fine. Even if he can’t bind Deku’s arms, his chest, this already has them both hard as fuck.
Katsuki grabs his thigh―high, where there’s nothing but unmarked skin―and squeezes hard enough to leave a print and it’s… so good. He doesn’t quite look like the girls in the mags. This feels too messy, too random, but it’s fucking gorgeous and he knows the marks it’ll leave later will be even more beautiful.
Deku’s legs spread a little and they stay bent just how Katsuki left him. He drags one leg to the side and Deku just lets him, lets himself be seen.
Now that he’s all exposed, Katsuki can’t help but grab his ass, feel him tense up as he moans and then relax as Katsuki massages deep. His legs tremble but don’t get in the way.
“Hold.” Katsuki makes him keep his hands on the pillow, up above him, and steps back to admire.
Deku blinks slowly, cheeks flushed pink, lips stained red, chest rising and falling with deep breaths. His legs are spread wide and his cock is fully hard, tip glistening. “Kacchan~! Are you gonna fuck me, please? ‘M ready, just need to be opened up a little.”
Katsuki goes back to his luggage and gets some gloves and a fresh pair of underwear. “Open your mouth.”
Deku giggles but obeys so Katsuki puts two fingers in his mouth―a small indulgence. He pets his tongue, feels it lick up his knuckles. Once he’s slobbered all over his fingers, Katsuki takes them out and replaces them with his balled up underwear.
Deku’s face gets even redder as he breathes heavily from his nose.
Katsuki trails his wet fingers over Deku’s chest, his pebbled nipples, his twitching abs, his navel―bypasses his dick, earning him a whine―and then rubs at his hole. “Don’t you want me here?”
Deku grumbles around his trunks, raising his hips, cock flopping from side to side.
“What, want me to play with this thing?” Katsuki points at his cock and Deku raises his hips again, gets his cock to brush against Katsuki’s hands. “You sure?” He dips a finger in and Deku is so very tight. Katsuki pushes one of Deku’s legs up to his chest and spits on his hole―to Deku’s indignant fussing―and slips the finger to the second knuckle.
Deku tenses, mumbling.
“Open.” Katsuki smacks his thigh so hard he leaves a faint, red print. “I’ll get the lotion, but first, open up for me.”
Deku frowns but then his hole doesn’t feel like it’s fighting him just as hard and Katsuki can sink it fully in. He’s hot there, burning. And his cock looks so hard and red and Deku moans in that plaintive tone.
Katsuki slips out to fetch some lotion―there was no way to get actual lube without someone seeing the package or him getting recognized in the pharmacy and he wasn’t about to ask Pikachu and let him be insufferable in his DMs.
He coats his fingers then the outside of Deku’s hole. When he puts a finger back in, the slide is smooth and Deku’s moaning happily.
Katsuki immediately adds another finger, smiles as Deku’s dick jumps and drools. He fucks in slow, makes sure to turn his fingers, let him feel his fingers go deep. And every time Deku rolls his hips, Katsuki meets him with just as much intensity, his other hand squeezing one asscheeks.
Right as Deku plants his feet on the bed, trying his best to fuck himself on Katsuki’s fingers, Katsuki puts a hand on his dick. When he starts to cum, Katsuki holds him, makes sure to point his dick so he cums onto his own stomach.
When his hips fall back to the bed, his chest heaves and his eyes are dazed. Katsuki takes him more firmly in hand and places his thumb at the slit. He rubs there once and Deku’s legs close around him.
Fuck. He can’t stop. Katsuki rubs a little faster, focusing on that head flushed as red as Deku’s cheeks.
Deku reaches down, grabbing his wrist.
Katsuki lets go, takes his fingers out of his hole. “Put your hands back up.”
Deku keeps his eyes on him, eyebrows furrowed the way they are when he’s outraged Katsuki doesn’t treat everyone with kid gloves.
“Up,” Katsuki says, voice stern. He pinches Deku on the inside of his thigh and Deku twitches but doesn’t squeeze.
Deku keeps frowning but obeys.
Katsuki spreads his legs again―as far as they’ll go―and gives a hard smack to the bare skin; Deku grunts against the underwear but stays where he’s been put. “Good.” And then, he adds a bit more lotion and this time, he puts three fingers in.
They slide in easily and Deku rolls his hips in tandem―even if Katsuki starts playing with his dick too. He pumps him slow, fucks his fingers in even faster and when Deku closes his legs around him, Katsuki goes faster, harder until Deku’s groaning against his underwear like a fucking slut.
This time, Deku throws his head back and doesn’t fight the hand that strips his dick until he’s coming and even past that.
Katsuki swallows. Fuck.
Deku looks tortured, shaking his head, screaming into the gag, clawing at the pillows, legs trying and failing to move Katsuki off his dick―and Katsuki can’t stop.
This is better than the magazines, better than being sucked off, better than the fucking wet dreams. Just having Deku looking at him with tears in his eyes as his pathetic dick shrivels and twitches. Deku comes, dick completely soft. It just dribbles out of him and he cries, muffled and pitiful. Fucking sobs, toes all scrunched up.
Katsuki rips the underwear from his mouth, dying to kiss him.
“K-Ka-Kacchan,” Deku cries, takes deep breaths. “Wanna―Kacchan please. Need―”
Katsuki kisses him and Deku grabs at his shoulders, fingers clawing at his back. Katsuki squeezes Deku’s dick and he fucking screams in his mouth.
Katsuki’s half-surprised when Deku puts a hand on his cock and he finds himself so hard he might cum just from that. He gives him one stroke and Katsuki pushes Deku back, disentangles from his hands that pull at him. He kneels by Deku’s head so he can fit his cock there.
The moment Deku has his lips wrapped around his cock, Katsuki grabs him by the neck and cums. He groans through it, lazily thrusting his hips as Deku drinks his cum, hand squeezing Deku’s neck for those sweet, little gurgles and gags.
Katsuki takes a breath, watching Deku’s body. His pink dick. His flushed chest. His lips still wrapped around his cock.
“Gonna sleep here?” Katsuki asks.
Deku tries to mumble around his cock but when it’s clear Katsuki’s gonna keep him on his cock as long as he wants, he rolls his eyes and nods.
“Good.” He pulls his cock out but keeps it at Deku’s lips. “Lick me clean.”
“K’cchan’s so demandin’,” Deku croaks out.
Katsuki tugs sharply at his hair but he just moans and diligently sticks his tongue out to dispense his own little torture.
Like this? The you might like the Dekubowl fic it came from: The Long Defeat! And if you really like it, I am open to commission <3

The Wicked Witch and A Prince [BKDK]
BKDK Angst
CW: Blood, Violence, Discrimination, Death Mention, Hurt, Weapons, Kidnapping, Friends -> "Enemies" -> Lovers
__
Izuku ran through the forest, panting heavily, tripping over sticks and his own feet yet not stopping for a second.
The people that chased him weren't giving up for a second and he needed to find a place where he could just breathe. All he wanted to do was find some plants and berries that he could use for a potion he needed for his mother.
But he found himself at the verge of death if he stopped for even a second while he ran from people holding knives and bows ready to put him 6 feet under the moment they got the chance. He used what he could to keep himself going, a speed spell, a transformation spell, an energy spell, anything he could use. His stamina still continued to dwindle along with his energy to keep using spells.
Was he going to die here in the middle of the forest with no one to even remember who he was? Well, one person would.
But that person belonged to the kingdom that wished to see his demise.
Izuku continued to run until he saw a cave in the distance. He looked behind him and made sure the people chasing him were far enough and used a spell to teleport in. He panted heavily, hearing the way the people yelled in confusion on where he went. Their voices quieted down and they decided to just leave it and head back home leaving Izuku to sit on the ground and run his fingers through his hair.
He felt sick, every bone in his body ached. He had no more energy to move now that the adrenaline had worn off.
It hurt.
His life hurt. Did Kacchan still hate him? To think that he did hurt him more.
He thinks about the day everything happened constantly and every time it makes his heart break for the lost of his best friend and the beginning of the distance they would have between them.
--
Izuku smiled as he laid his head on Katsuki's chest, the blond running his fingers through his shorter green curls, a tint of red on both of their chubby faces, looking up at the stars with pure love.
"Kacchan, when you rule over the kingdom you won't forget about me right?"
"What kind of dumb question is that? Of course not, Deku!" Izuku smiled to himself, his heart beating fast in his chest.
He cared so much about him and their friendship. The roles they were supposed to play didn't matter at their young ages, they lived peacefully in bliss.
Izuku thought this would be how it was forever.
Yet when a villager had noticed them in the distance playing around, Izuku letting sparkles flow from his hands and Katsuki smiling softly at him they quickly ran in with a sword in tow. They pulled Katsuki back by the back of his shirt and announced to the town that Izuku was a witch.
"Protect our young Prince!" They said, yelling to the crowd that had formed, not caring about the look that settled on Izuku's face of fear and distraught. "Even if it means burning him at stake. We must protect him."
Even in Izuku's young mind, only 10 at the time, he knew that the way Katsuki looked at him then turned away was his moment to run deep into the forest he came from.
He hadn't looked back since.
--
Izuku finally made his way back home and yelled out for his mom but a response didn't come. He didn't worry yet and assumed she was just sleeping.
She had been ill the past few days, so she's been making sure to take care of her body. So Izuku whipped her up some tea as well as a stew that she would hopefully keep down. He walked the way to her room and slowly opened the door, his heart beating fast.
He didn't want to assume the worst.
He really didn't.
But when he made his way in he realized he wasn't invalid in his worry. He dropped the cup and bowl in his hands, them shattering the moment they reached the ground.
His mother was gone, a note on her bed.
A sinking feeling of dread fell over him as he walked towards it.
---
Izuku kept his face cover with the burlap cloak he had as he walked into the kingdom he never thought he would look at again.
The town looked livelier than he left it 9 years ago. The towns people waved to one another and commerce happily went along no disagreements in sight.
He was happy to see the kingdom again but at the same time he had a sense of melancholy.
He recognized the areas he used to hang out with Katsuki at and all the areas he loved just being in.
He smiled sadly as he grew near his designation.
He took a deep breath and knocked on the door.
---
Katsuki sighed, looking up at his sword on the wall before walking off to meet with his parents for a meeting. He's been a skilled fighter for years, ready to prepare for anything.
But with the memories of a boy he cared deeply for infesting his mind constantly he never wished to bear his own sword.
He was given it years ago and not once has he picked it up in thoughts of his childhood best friend.
He never wanted to leave Deku.
He wanted to spend more time with him.
Now he didn't have a clue where he was due to his stupidity his younger self had. He didn't even defend him when he was being driven out of town.
But who was really going to listen to a kid?
They didn't respect Izuku at the same age, they wouldn't have taken him seriously.
But how he wished for a moment to see his face or feel his green curls in between his calloused fingers again. Or to feel his warmth against him or to feel his pulse on his wrist that reminded him he was there.
But he wouldn't get it again.
So he lived his life normally, just dealing with the pain he felt in his chest for a lost friendship.
He was about to push open the doors to the throne room where his parents were but a yell from down the hall caught his attention.
It was from one of his most trusted and stoic guards in the most panicked voice he's ever heard.
"Prince Katsuki, come quick!" He started. "The villagers! They–They're inciting immolation in the square."
---
Izuku gazed upon the crowd around him, his eyes dull yet glossy on the verge of tears. It was what he had to do, yet he felt so scared about it.
He was being held onto while the towns people prepared a stake just for him.
This was the only way, he had to accept it.
He wished he could have done more. Figured out more. Taken care of his mom more.
Talked to Kacchan one last time.
But as the people kept working his thoughts grew into a whisper, not wishing to think harder on this.
He was so tired.
Maybe this was a good thing?
He sighed as he started to get dragged towards the stake, letting the sounds muffle out.
At least, until he got dropped onto the ground near the base and he listened as even through the muffled mess, everyone grew silent. It must have been destiny. Or even fate. But his eyes widened as he looked up at the familiar spiky blond hair and burning red eyes that looked right down at him. They both looked at one another in shock before Izuku teared up.
It was something he's never felt.
It was something he wouldn't experience again after today. Yet he couldn't quite put his finger on it.
It felt like relief almost? And bliss. A sense of euphoria.
He felt like he was back in that 10 year old body looking up at his childhood friend as he looked back at the witch that laid in fear on the ground. So he spoke before he could even think.
"Kacchan...if I'm going to die, I want it to be at your hands."
Katsuki's face turned more into a shocked one as he shook his head. "I-Izuku...you...how did you get in this mess?"
Izuku thought back at the note he read back home. The one that gave his mother's location and how she would live, even if he didn't.
"I-I guess I never stopped being selfless.." He chuckled quietly without humor. "But please, let me be selfish just this once?"
A guard of Katsuki's stepped forward and held his sword out for him. Katsuki looked between it and the look on Izuku's face.
Katsuki took deep breaths as his mind raced with so much he couldn't even think of correctly.
But a breath he took his hand shook as he gripped the handle of his sword, sharp and shiny showing the way its just sat.
He held the sword and looked at it before looking at Izuku once more.
"I see your hands shaking." He spoke. "Don't worry Kacchan.. I'm happy to die if it meant I got to see you again...and die in the most peaceful way possible."
Katsuki had tilted the sword some and Izuku took a hold of its point and brought it down to his chest.
"It's okay.. I promise."
With all the eyes watching, just like they were on that day, Katsuki felt the fear rush into his chest.
But the moment Izuku let go of his sword was the moment he shook his head and stuck it in the ground in front of both of them.
The crowd gasped as they watched this and watched Katsuki kneel down by Izuku and hold his hand out.
"We have some catching up to do." He said simply. Izuku was equally as shocked but tried his hardest to hide the tears that threatened to fall as he took his hand, allowing himself to be pulled up and to be pulled into Katsuki's arms back to the castle.
---
Izuku and Katsuki talked about everything. Their lives, mostly without the other. How much they've done since forever ago. How much they've grown as people.
Izuku let Katsuki feel his pulse on his wrist while Izuku laid his head on his chest listening to his heartbeat.
It was a long night of emotions. Izuku finally got a good night of rest.
His mother was taken care of by castle workers as he was protected and discussed in the castle.
Katsuki finally introduced Izuku to his parents.
They quickly went into action when Katsuki told them he wanted to make things better for Izuku and others like him. He wasn't going to feel unsafe ever again.
After only so long they finally got the chance to lay under the stars, Izuku laying his head on Katsuki's chest, his fingers, more calloused than before still running through his hair. In the dark of the night they made up for years of missing one another and years of their feeling of longing.
This time, no one could separate them again.
They held hands and shared a sweet kiss under the stars before making their way back to the castle.
Just a Prince and his witch.

Note
My take on bkdk is that they aint gonna be canon in the manga but logically they should and would. I mean, izuku wouldnt reject kacchan if kacchan were to ask him out. and kacchan wouldnt refuse izuku if izuku were to ask him out. but neither will be asking that question so things wont go canon
This was sent on 25th July -
Spoilers for chapter 430
Honestly when I thought about bkdk canon, I never expected a 100% explicit love confession -it was more about the feeling of togetherness, understanding they are meant to be interpreted as having a special bond based on love. I know for some people that's "just implied", but I just couldn't picture how a kiss or something like that could fit in the manga with any of the characters.
I was surprised and really sad at the lack of handholding tho, as it was the only thing I was sure would happen considering how it could get interpreted -Izuku has held hands with multiple characters he's close to, so making them hold hands and show us wouldn't be "weird" for anyone who could try to censor it, and it was genuinely important for their characters.
However, after reading other people's perspective this can even be gayer lol -too intimate to show us, but important enough that we need to know Katsuki asks for Izuku's hand without any problem and links him to his dream with the rest of their friends/ex classmates.
